Dylan Fest AC 2017

In 2015, Bob Dylan fans had the opportunity to relive an historic moment in rock history and celebrate the songs that chronicled social issues such as war and civil rights, plus Dylan’s biggest rock classics, at "Dylan Fest AC" on August 28th, 2015, at Dante Hall Theater of Stockton University in Atlantic City.

A live musical celebration and tribute to the ever-popular Bob Dylan and Levon & the Hawks took place Friday, August 28th, 2015 at Dante Hall Theater in Atlantic City (7:30pm).  DYLAN FEST AC celebrated the 50th anniversary of the birthplace of Bob Dylan and The Band right here at the Jersey Shore. Dylan’s discovery of Levon Helm and The Hawks (later to become the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Famers, The Band) in Somers Point, N.J. at the club Tony Mart’s in August 1965 has been called “…one of the most decisive moments in rock history,” by Time magazine.

The show mirrored  the Dylan/Hawks shows of 50 years ago with the first set (acoustic) by Philadelphia’s Peter Stone Brown and the second set (electric) by the Atlantic City-area based 5 Believers, the region's most genuine Dylan tribute band.

The sold out show was followed by Dylan Fest AC 2016 and 2017.

Jeff has been fortunate in his writing and editing career to have been acknowledged by organizations that he admires and respects.  Jeff will never forget the first award from the New Jersey Press AssociationRemembering the Messenger, Jazz legend Art Blakey and his small town Atlantic County digs.   It was hs first year as an associate editor at ACW and it was the first of more than a dozen writing awards he's won (both nationally and in state) since.  The latest was a particular honor when the Advocates for New Jersey History  presented him with the prestigious 2013 Dwyer Award for outstanding achievement in journalism related to or supporting New Jersey History.

In 2014, he was honored by the Greater Atlantic City Jaycees and AC Weekly with a 10th Anniversary Top 40 Under 40 Distinguished Honoree award for his tireless work on the project for nearly a decade — honoring 400 people in the Atlantic City region.
