Dylan Fest AC 2017

In 2015, Bob Dylan fans had the opportunity to relive an historic moment in rock history and celebrate the songs that chronicled social issues such as war and civil rights, plus Dylan’s biggest rock classics, at "Dylan Fest AC" on August 28th, 2015, at Dante Hall Theater of Stockton University in Atlantic City.

A live musical celebration and tribute to the ever-popular Bob Dylan and Levon & the Hawks took place Friday, August 28th, 2015 at Dante Hall Theater in Atlantic City (7:30pm).  DYLAN FEST AC celebrated the 50th anniversary of the birthplace of Bob Dylan and The Band right here at the Jersey Shore. Dylan’s discovery of Levon Helm and The Hawks (later to become the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Famers, The Band) in Somers Point, N.J. at the club Tony Mart’s in August 1965 has been called “…one of the most decisive moments in rock history,” by Time magazine.

The show mirrored  the Dylan/Hawks shows of 50 years ago with the first set (acoustic) by Philadelphia’s Peter Stone Brown and the second set (electric) by the Atlantic City-area based 5 Believers, the region's most genuine Dylan tribute band.

The sold out show was followed by Dylan Fest AC 2016 and 2017.

Track 4 of 12: 5 Believers play the original version of the Bob Dylan song "All Along the Watchtower" - as it was played on Bob Dylan's classic folk-rock album John Wesley Harding - live in Atlantic City at Dylan Fest AC 2016. Video: Craig Kupper.

Outstanding rumba-tinged cover of Bob Dylan's "I Am the Lonesome Hobo" from the classic folk-rock album 'John Wesley Harding.' This rarely played Dylan cut is performed live by the Jersey Shore's best Dylan tribute band 5 Believers at the 2nd annual 'Dylan Fest AC,' held at Dante Hall Theater in Atlantic City, October 1, 2016. A very rare image: Three members of the Band (Levon Helm, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson) kept their connection to Somers Point, New Jersey, strong through the decades, appearing at this "revival" show and memorial tribute to the owner of Tony Mart's, Anthony Marotta, in 1986, the year he passed. His son Carmen Marotta continues to keep the music alive each Friday summer night in Somers Point with the city's free beach concert series.
